This Privacy Policy explains how World Dental Events (“worlddentalevents.com,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use our website and services. 7. Third-Party Event & Organisation Data

Our directory includes information about organisations and individuals collected from publicly available sources. If you are an individual whose personal data appears on the Service and you wish to exercise your data protection rights (including the right to erasure), please contact privacy@worlddentalevents.com.

We will respond to such requests within 30 days and will assess them in accordance with applicable data protection law.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy:

  • Contact form submissions: up to 2 years, then deleted
  • Event submission data: retained as long as the event listing is active, plus 12 months
  • Organisation verification data: retained for the duration of the verified listing
  • Server logs: up to 90 days
  • Analytics data: aggregated and anonymised after 26 months

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 10).

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and regular security reviews.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions

Supervisory authorities

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. In North Macedonia, the relevant authority is the Directorate for Personal Data Protection (DZLP).

11. International Data Transfers

As a globally accessible service, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses or reliance on adequacy decisions.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for dental professionals and is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@worlddentalevents.com.

13. Automated Decision-Making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. Search results, listing order, and directory display may be influenced by algorithmic sorting, but these do not constitute automated decision-making within the meaning of applicable data protection law.

14. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify relevant supervisory authorities and affected individuals as required by applicable law, including within the timeframes mandated by GDPR (72 hours for authority notification where applicable).

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes become effective when posted on this page. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes, we may provide additional notice via the Service.
